作道 慶昭

YOSHIAKI SAKUMICHI / SAKU DESIGN STUDIO

1968 年生まれ。武蔵野美術大学工芸工業デザイン学科卒業。1991 年より ZERO FIRST DESIGN に勤務し、2016 年に独立。SAKU DESIGN STUDIO 主宰。家具デザインを中心に、プロダクト、インテリア、空間提案まで幅広く手掛ける。素材の魅力を引き出し、現代の空間に自然と溶け込む、静かで美しい造形を追求。デザインディレクターとして、家具産地や伝統工芸の分野にも関わりながら、ものづくりの本質と新たな価値の創出に取り組んでいる。

Born in 1968. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Industrial, Interior and Craft Design. Worked at ZERO FIRST DESIGN from 1991 to 2016, and founded SAKU DESIGN STUDIO in 2016. Specializing in furniture design, he is engaged in product, interior, and spatial design. His work focuses on bringing out the inherent qualities of materials, pursuing quiet and refined forms. As a design director, he is also involved in furniture production areas and traditional crafts, exploring the essence of craftsmanship and creating new value.
